Don't Sweat It...It's Natural
After lots of trial and error, most of us have a familiar deodorant we use. We think roll-on or spray? Fragrance or fragrance free? Is there a better brand name then others? One question that doesn’t cross too many minds is whether we should make the change to a more natural deodorant. Could it be that there’s just not that much information out there for us? Well, read on for a little insight and a possible life changing decision....
Facts... our bodies are made to sweat and sweating is good for us (it releases toxins from the body, prevents our bodies from overheating and removes impurities from the skin)
Antiperspirant deodorants contain aluminium which prevents your body from producing sweat. This means when your body overheats, the aluminium reacts with the bacteria from your body which releases body odour; in fact, your sweat naturally does not have much of an odour, perhaps just a salty one! Natural deodorants do not contain aluminium, so these allow the body to sweat as they should.
I don't know about you all, but for me personally, though there is no evidence to suggest the level of aluminium present, damages your health, the mere fact that you are obstructing the process of nature by "blocking" the sweat glands, from naturally excreting toxins from your body, I feel rather uncomfortable to use anything but a more natural deodorant.
If you are thinking about the change, it may take some trial and error to find the perfect product for you but it will all be worth it. Just a word of advice – be patient for the first few days. As with all changes in life, your mind and body need to adjust. So far, you’ve been using a product which has been clogging up your pores and in most cases smells lovely on application but through the day isn’t so pleasant. With this new adjustment, you might notice a little more sweat then usual and a slight bad odour, but this is completely normal and natural. It is basically the toxins in your body which can finally be released and the sweat glands which can now open and be cleansed.
