How often do you wash your Make Up Brushes?
Lets start this off with the question, How often do you use your Make Up Brushes? Is it Everyday? Maybe Twice a Day? Or maybe not so often, Just once a Week.
Now lets think about something we already know, and that is the Nature of our Skin & How many different things it might be exposed to in one day. Perhaps you’ve got on a bus, or walked around the park, maybe you’ve been into the supermarket, or taken an afternoon nap. Naturally, our skin takes in particles from everywhere we go, and this is why it is so important to keep our skin clean all the time, however this is not a blog about Skincare.. Or maybe it is.
Imagine.. you go to use your make up brushes, and mixed in with all that bronzer comes the little particles that you’ve picked up from the outside, only for you to use this same brush over and over again without washing. See where this is going?
Cleaning your make up brushes, can be a true skin care saviour. If your fighting with unhappy skin, try this and you’ll never look back! Also, scrubbing up your make up brushes regularly can extend their life, making for better product application every time!
So now that we know how important it is, Whats the best and most simple way to do it?
1. Dampen your make up brush or brushes with lukewarm water.
2. Drop in a little of your favourite cleanser into the palm of your clean hand. Massage the tips of the bristles in your palm, Be sure to do this one brush at a time.
3. Rinse the bristles thoroughly and squeeze out the excess moisture.
4. Bring the brush back to its natural form.
5. Let the brush dry with its bristles hanging off the edge of a counter, which allows it to dry in the correct shape.
Tip: Never have your brushes dry vertically with the bristles facing up — this can cause water to leak inside, which leads to bristle loss.
There are a number of brush cleansers that are out on the market, and although you can be sure to extend the lifetime of your brushes when they are cleaned, you should definitely consider how long you are keeping your brushes, and if they are constantly giving you the desired effect.
