So 2020 hasn’t been your year, or anyone elses for that matter. Salons being closed due to Covid-19 had us getting round looking like Frida Kahlo. Good news is, Salons are in full swing and this brow technique is bound to lift your spirits (and brows!)
We’re talking about Brow Lamination! The technique that has all Brow Professionals quickly adapting to, We’ve looked into it for you and here is everything you need to know..
Brow lamination:
Lamination is the newest way to get fuller, fluffier brows without painful needling. A technique created in Russia that promises to give even the flattest brows that voluminous full shape seen on models that grace the covers of vogue.
Experts describe brow lamination as ‘a treatment that provides a similar result to microblading (eyebrow tattooing) that’s pain-free and without any downtime’. Think of it like a perm or chemical straightening for your eyebrows.
How does it work?:
The treatment works in two parts. Firstly your brows will be cleaned so the therapist can see the natural shape of the brows and the direction of hair growth, you'll want to go in with your desired look in mind, after all they'll be there to stay for a while. A 'brow lift cream' (the keratin) is applied first, to soften the hair, allowing your technician to manipulate them into the new direction of hair growth. This solution is processed under some plastic wrap and how long this takes depends on how thick your brows are to start with. The Brows are then coated in a setting solution that helps to set your newly straightened bows into place, usually followed by a tint and tidy up.
How long does it last?:
Most people will have a growth cycle of around 30 days, so your brow lamination can last anywhere from three to eight weeks. Salons say, with the correct maintenance, ie. brushing and adding oils to your brows in your nightly routine, the lamination and tint will have longer lasting results. You'll leave the salon with a super sleek look that will generally last up to 24hrs, or until washed. If you want to keep this look going for some time, its best to look into purchasing a gel or serum to acheive this look.
Who is the treatment best suited to?:
If you have curly, unruly brows, or brows that grow in different directions, you will LOVE the results if brow lamination. A great way to save time in the morning brushing, filling and shaping your brows yourself, and who wouldn’t want to wake up with perfect Cara Delevingne brows everyday?!
